LIONNEL LIM started his work career in the 80s, first as a fashion designer-cum-merchandiser for local and regional manufacturers and later switched to writing, styling and illustrating for newspapers and various publications. In 1986, he joined Shusse Publishing, first as a Writer/Stylist, then as Fashion Editor for both MAN and HOT Nouveau magazines. In 1992, he joined Scotts Shopping Centre as its Creative Consultant for both the shopping centre and Lau Pa Sat. From 1993 to 1996, as Fashion Director of Takashimaya Department Store, where he headed and managed the Fashion Office, supervised market analysis and set budgets and trends for all the fashion and lifestyle departments. He has worked on advertising campaigns for companies as diversed as: American Express, Byford, Hang Ten, Padini, Seed, Thomson and Valentino. As a Fashion Journalist, Mr Lim has conducted in-depth interviews with international designers like Geoffrey Beene, Romeo Gigli, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, Mitsuhiro Matsuda, Zandra Rhodes and Paul Smith. In 1992, Mr Lim contributed to St James Press in London as a Fashion Contributor. He held the position of Fashion Editor to FHM magazine from its inception in 1997 till March 2002. He was also the former Fashion Editor to NewMan magazine and fashion & lifestyle writer for Streats newspapers. He was also a regular contributor to The Straits Times newspapers, Dare, NewMan, Shape, Style and Urban magazines. He contributed as a stylist for Marina Square shopping mall’s 2009 “Fashion Revolution” 2-week event. From 1996 to 2010, he was co-director of E-3 communications & design pte ltd, a boutique PR outfit specialising in fashion and lifestyle PR. Current and past clients include high-end luxury brands like Alain Mikli, Chopard, Christian Dior, Concord, Furla, G-Star, Gucci Timepieces, Officine Panerai and government corporations like Alicante Chamber of Commerce Spain, Central Narcotics Bureau, Singapore Environment Council and Spring Singapore. Since 2011, Lionnel has been involved with the Men's Fashion Week Singapore, Women's Fashion Week Singapore, Haute Couture Week Singapore and French Couture Week Singapore plus Asia's Next Top Model as its Public Relations Consultant at Word of Mouth Communications. In 2017, he joined Prestige Singapore magazine as its senior society editor. He had also conducted various style workshops for companies like Anteprima, G2000, G-Star, Guess, John Little's, Jurong Point, Love Mi, Mediacorp (for its new batch of actors and actresses), N Tyler, Robinsons and Zara.
